Invernes Caledonian Thistle Football Club

One of our major supporters this year has been Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club.  James maternal family are avid supporters of ICTFC and from birth James was a season ticket holder along with his Nana and great grandad.

Following his passing, the club were hugely supportive and last season had a raffle in hospitality and later on a very sucessful bucket cllection.

However, this season they made Angel Wings – Baby James Legacy their cause for the season.  We now have advertising boards at either end of the pitch behind the goals and at every press conference you can see the Angel Wings logo.

The awareness this has raised for Angel Wings and The baby James Legacy has been amazing.

In reception there is also one of our ribon boxes with the special ICTFC Baby James Legacy ribbons as well as our standard blue and pink ribbons.

The support from the football club has ben amazing and we still have the rest of the season to go with more bucket collections, raffles etc.

So a big thank you to everyone at ICTFC but a huge big shout out goes to Jim Oliver who has been our main conact at the club.

Kiltwalk Fundraising

Our big fundraiser this year has been The Kiltwalk in Edinburgh.  It’s an amazing way for small causes like ourselves to raise funds as The Tom Hunter Foundation gives and extra 40% for every penny raised towards the Kiltwalk.  This is nothing to do with gift aid and the 40% gets added to any amount added to the everyday hero account. So bucket collections, shakers, raffles all count.

we have been very lucky to have support from lots of family and friends but, without the support of our corporate friends we would never have smashed the £8,000 which we are so pleased to announce we did today.

So today we give a big shout out to some of the  businesses, who without them, fundraising for us would be a real struggle:

The Cairngorm Hotel, Aviemore

Tulloch Homes

Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club

The Caley Club, Inverness

The Upland Group, Aviemore

The Skiing Doo bar, Aviemore

Caledonia Estate Agents, Aviemore

G H Johnston Building Consultant

Home Bargains, Aviemore

William Gray Construction

Tescos Aviemore

Cobbs Aviemore and Glenmore

But the list is endless, so many other business who let us have collection boxes in their premises or donate raffle prizes.

So thank you each and every one or you, it means so much to us all.

But, if you have a business and would like to support us, please contact us at liz@babyjameslegacy.com or message us on our Facebook page.

About baby James

Baby James (James Zander Anderson) was a beuatiful little boy who was brought up in the Cairngorms and lived in Grantown on Spey with his mum.  Everything changed on 10th October 2017 when James did not wake up.  The official cause of death was “Sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC)”.  James was just 16 months old and up to that point full of life and always smiling.

The baby James Legacy was then set up in November 2017 to bring something positive and to keep his name alive.  The support has been overwhelming.

Fundraising so Far

The main function so far of the baby James Legacy has been to raise funds to purchase “snuggle blankets”.  These are in effect a mobile refrigeration unit which allows families extra time with their recently passed loved one.  Its used from three months upwards.

We have a go fund me page and we also had a team who took part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk.
